Nashville. Music City. Home to legendary music venues like the Grand Ole Opry House, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsies, and of course the BlueBird Cafe. As a songwriter each one of these world famous establishments holds a special place in the heart of a songwriter. They are goals, stepping stones, and milestones in the pursuit of the ultimate goal of sharing music with the world and hearing it live on the radio.
The Heartstrings & Honky Tonks series will celebrate 840 CFCW’s 70th birthday and as salute to the iconic Grand Ole Opry, four incredible shows will allow both the artists and audience to be part of something truly special as the performances are broadcast live on 840 AM radio. These special nights will be hosted by CFCW’s own Jackie Rae and will take place in theaters in Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Spruce Grove, and Camrose Alberta.
This historic evening of live music will be set in a traditional Nashville style songwriters round, often also called a guitar pull. These sessions will feature incredible songwriters as they share their stories and take the audience on an emotional journey singing both songs they have written, performed the way they were originally intended, along with songs that hold a special place in their own heart.
Platinum selling co-writers, and long time friends Dan Davidson and Clayton Bellamy will host this event as they bring their Nashville experiences north of the border. The pair of award winning, top selling artists will be telling stories of what’s behind the song with a little 3 chords and the truth. Between the 2 of them they have had top charting songs in 3 genres as writers, artists, and producers. As artists they’ve criss-crossed the world with several touring acts and several hundred shows. They’ve seen it all and have the stories to prove it!
Along with Dan & Clayton each night will feature two more incredible songwriters in each city including some surprise and local guests. Rounding out the entire roster of artists slated for these incredible nights of music are CFCW favorites Bobby Wills, Danny Hooper, Duane Steele, Hailey Benedict, Kalsey Kulyk, Nice Horse, Mariya Stokes, with special guest appearances by local artists Hanna Gazso, Donny Lee, Stirling John and Tracy Millar.
